The coffee comes from Coopetarrazú, founded in 1960 when 228 small producers in San Marcos de Tarrazú joined together to pursue fairer profits and a stronger voice. The cooperative now supports more than 5,000 members with technical assistance, low-cost loans, and affordable fertilizers. About 80% farm four hectares or less.

Its operations support approximately 10,000 jobs throughout the year. By overseeing production from harvest through sorting, milling, and export, the cooperative continually evaluates its coffee to maintain consistent quality.
